Michele Giangrande

Michele Giangrande was born in Bari in 1979.

Bio

He completed art studies (Academy of Fine Arts). He taught Decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro and taught Painting Techniques at the Academy of Fine Arts in Lecce. He currently teaches Decoration at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bari.
In 2015, his research was the subject of a 26-minute documentary entitled ‘Odissea dandy – Michele Giangrande e il suo atelier’, promoted by the Apulia Film Commission in collaboration with the Fondazione Museo Pino Pascali, arTVision – a live art channel and produced by ESPRIT FILM., presented at various festivals and included in the schedule of the SKY ARTE HD television channel for spring/summer 2016.

His works can be found in museums, public and private collections in Italy and abroad. He has exhibited in numerous solo, group and collective exhibitions. Among the most recent, in 2016, the solo show Cosmic Milk at Nomos Value Research in Rome (curated by Christian Caliandro) and group shows in Russia Art-Factory/Next and The 3rd Ural Industrial Biennial of Contemporary Art, in Yekaterinburg, St. Petersburg Craft Weekend and Sergey Kuryokhin Contemporary Art Award, in St. Petersburg. In 2015 he participated in ArteFiera in Bologna with the exhibition Signs in the solo show section; he has exhibited on various occasions with the Fondazione Pino Pascali, including the 2009 solo show curated by Rosalba Branà, Carlo Berardi and Angelo Delli Santi; he also participated in the 54. International Art Exhibition – La Biennale di Venezia, in the side event Puglia: Sguardo Contemporaneo curated by Rosalba Branà and Giusy Caroppo.
He has exhibited with internationally renowned artists such as: Damien Hirst, Ai Weiwei, Yōko Ono, Alfredo Jaar, Christiane Löhr, Francesco Arena, Perino&Vele, Luigi Presicce.
